Peregrine Wealth Group has become a founding sponsor of Vive La Vallette – the charity behind the new facilities at La Vallette bathing pools.
The wealth management firm based in Guernsey joins an exclusive group of local businesses and individuals who have committed to supporting the upgraded facilities at one of the islands most historic and loved destinations.
Hennie Esterhuizen , Managing Director of Peregrine Wealth Group, said: “The charity’s vision- that the bathing pool will become a vibrant destination where everyone can feel welcome and valued, and where peoples lives are improved – really struck a chord with our team. We share that vision and look forward to supporting the charity over the coming years.”
Vive La Vallette was set up to create an accessible community hub for Guernsey residents and grow the popularity of sea swimming. The new facilities which should be completed in early 2022, will comprise of upgraded changing rooms and purpose built cafe, plus additional space for meetings, exhibitions, education and other events . Importantly, there is an emphasis on inclusivity and the new building had been designed to complement its surroundings and to stand the test of time with an emphasis on durability and sustainability.
Hennie continued: “We see our support of La Vallette as a true partnership between our team and the charity. We plan to make the most of the pools ourselves and hope to get involved with other fundraising initiatives, as well as challenging the corporate community to use and invest in the pools’ facilities.”
Kerry Marley, Peregrine Wealth’s community lead and sea-swimming advocate, said: ‘From personal experience I can vouch for the benefits of sea swimming. There’s no better way to wake up in the morning or finish the day. The new facilities will be welcomed by the sea-swimming community all year round.
The benefits of the redevelopment arent limited to just sea swimming. The new facilities will host and support a range of activities that benefit islanders both physically and mentally. The team at Peregrine want to have a positive impact on the local community and we cant wait to give more support to the charity.
Exciting new community initiatives have already arisen thanks to the new facilities. For example, Guernsey Sports Commission is recruiting its first ever Outdoor and Adventure Sports Development Officer.
Peregrine Wealth will be announcing charity initiatives and providing regular updates on the activity at the pools through our website and LinkedIn page.
